Diagnostic Ultrasound
A medical imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to create detailed images of the inside of the body
About
Diagnostic ultrasound, also known as sonography, is a medical imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to create detailed images of the inside of the body.
Diagnostic ultrasound operates on the principle of sound wave reflection. A small device called a transducer emits high-frequency sound waves that travel through the body. When these waves encounter different tissues, they bounce back to the transducer. The device then converts these echoes into real-time images that can be viewed on a monitor.
