Dr. Lori Dover is a chiropractor and native Islander. She was first introduced to her future career at the age of 17 when she suffered a neck injury due to a motor vehicle accident. To recuperate, Lori began seeing a local chiropractor and soon fell in love with the profession. After graduating from UPEI in 1993 with an Honours Degree in Biology, she pursued her passion and was accepted to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto. Lori graduated from CMCC in 1997 and joined a thriving practice in Toronto. Deciding that the city bustle was not for her, Lori opened her own clinic in the small town of Shelburne in 1999. Overtime, this clinic grew to be the largest multi-professional clinic in the area.

Though Lori loved her small Ontario town, PEI always called to her — so after 23 years in Ontario, she made the decision to move home. Lori is thrilled to announce that she has opened a practice in Charlottetown. She has joined the team at Body Works: her classmate and friend Dr. David Whitty, the wonderful Corena Hughes, and the talented Robert Wickstrom and Scott Conrad.

Lori’s focus as a chiropractor has been on whole family care, having treated patients as old as 94 years young, to her youngest patient having only been 1 day old. She holds an Advanced Certification in the Activator Method which uses a hand held instrument to adjust the spine. Lori also has a keen focus on muscular techniques and strives to guide her patients to whole health by incorporating nutrition and exercise into her practice.

Lori is so excited to be back ‘home’ on PEI. You will find her following her passion and helping people through chiropractic or enjoying what beautiful PEI has to offer by biking, hiking and walking the beaches with her husband or eating wonderful fresh seafood and new potatoes! Lori looks forward to meeting and helping Islanders with their health and is honoured to join the team at Body Works.
